I'm downloading it on my steam deck today. Very excited about this one

I never finished 1. I stopped at exactly every characters Part 4 and just never continued. I think I was trying to beat the sidequest bosses. I remember them being so hard.

I played the first hour as Temenos, it was a lot of fun. Never played the first game

I just finished chapter 1 of Osvald's story. Felt really quick but I enjoyed it a lot.

Is it better than the last one? Does it still have all the things everyone complained about the first one?

most of the issues people had with the first one is with the story so I can't say yet. What is confirmed is that characters do have crossover chapters so the party definitely interacts to some degree this time. Also there are a few new mechanics that make the characters feel less interchangeable (at least I think they're new mechanics)

I could only stomach 30 minutes of it. I see the writing is still just as terrible as the first game. Nice graphics though.

also i don't know how hot a take this is but while the actual spritework of the games look great, the other visual effects are a complete turn off for me. most noticeably the bloom, it's a legit eyesore to me

Yeah the first game had a lot of problems on not only the stories being very uninteresting and segmented, but your party members not interacting except for those awkward moments that are missable if you don't have the right team member equiped at certain points of the story. I will definately say the gameplay was probably the only thing that pushed me forward. Everything else is forgettable.

So if I hear good stuff about the story this time around, I may enjoy it. Otherwise, it might be a pass for me.
