So why was she banned if not for that topic?

She was banned for making an intentionally misleading topic designed to trick people into reading major end game spoilers of a brand new game that came out that day in a topic stating it is a walkthrough spoiler topic where no reasonable person could ever expect to read the end game spoilers in the first post of a walkthrough topic.

What was the goal of that topic? To have an actual discussion of her playthrough of the game? Given that she started the topic with a plot synopsis of the ending, I'm going to have to say it really doesn't seem like she was. Even more so when she has been very much on record on how much she dislikes the game and is not going to get it.

...Though honestly I don't have the mental bandwidth for this shit. This one is such a cut and dry moderation that I don't have any idea how people are dying on this hill to say it was an unfair moderation.

If you pick up a walkthrough for Ocarina of Time that says it major spoilers and start reading it because you're stuck on the first dungeon, are you expecting there to be spoilers for the end of the game before any spoilers pertaining to the plot surrounding the first dungeon?

The ultimate message about it is clear: promotion and discussion of the game, whether genuinely or in service to creating a space hostile to trans users, is more important than protecting trans members of the GameFAQs community. People protesting that will be dealt with. The fact that she gets banned but nothing happens to any of the alt-right agitators says it all

You can say that wasn't the strict intention of the mods to create that message, and maybe it wasn't, but this is the stance GameFAQs broadcasts with these decisions. Choosing to ban a vulnerable member at a time when they feel threatened by a major discourse in gaming rather than choosing a purg for example was the wrong move.

You should absolutely log off and go outside.

You don't get to be a PoS to ANYONE because of your gender, sexuality, religious beliefs, race, ethnicity, etc.

She was not simply "protesting", that is such a fucking bad faith, disingenuous statement. She (and her posse) was actively trolling and being disruptive by relating purchasers of the game to a certain german political party in the past, among other incredibly gross statements.

There are consequences to being a PoS. Being trans in this case is not a shield you can use to deflect those.

for me personally it was that she kept lingering in a hangout topic that was mainly about books/music and trying to make it about her depression or whatever, then throwing tantrums when people wouldn't respond to it. this was literally a decade ago so it's kinda silly to bring up, but i feel like it helps illustrate the point that she's always been someone who wants to be the center of attention and lashes out in a disproportionate manner when that's denied or when she's disagreed with.
