We went for the monthly ultrasound check up but I guess my wifes blood pressure was crazy high. So they told us to go to hospitals shes being delivered at and just stay overnight to be monitored. They told us we would be out by 5. I left in the morning to take care of some admin work stuff like going to court and filling out some paperwork.

i went back home and napped for an hour and then I was going to head out to pick her up. My wife called me saying its something to do with umbilical cord compression Im not even sure. So she has to get a c section tonight.

I thought I was going to be playing dead space remake and string up some baby furniture. Not having a baby 2 months early.

spent the last hour telling both our families, friends, and work that I might be on leave

if it helps, i have a friend who had 2 of their babies born premature like that. they are happy and healthy! they're like 10 now. and i was born via c section because i flipped around in there and they would have popped my head off if they pulled me out legs first.

modern medicine is amazing!

good luck!

My son was born just shy of 32 weeks. Hes in college now. My daughter was breech and had to be delivered via c-section. Shes In high school now.

Im sorry this is happening. Its really scary, and frankly annoying to think you had 2 more months to prepare. But everything is going to be okay. Find your support network and dont be afraid to ask for help. Tell people what you need - people want to help and dont always know what will help. (Meals for the freezer? Watching an older child/pet/your house? Preemie clothes? Diapers?)

that's great to hear, and congrats!

my brother and I were born a month early, but we were as big (or almost as big) as if we were born at 9 months, so we were okay.

my sister was born at six months, though, and was really small.
