Im in my mid-30s, have about the dating experience of a middle schooler (and all of those experiences being absolutely miserable), dont make nearly enough money to give kids a good life. Not only that but because of the work Ive been doing, my patience is pretty much zero. Will I regret it like 30+ years? Probably. But its not like I havent tried. Relationships just arent for me. It's like an extra $20,000 in spending a year for every kid. With the wage gap climbing higher each year and the housing market out of control, I think it's just going to be more and more common for people ONLY wanting to find someone to live together with without having any kids. We are not in the same era as people were in the 1950s where they could afford College, a Car, a House in the suburbs, a Dog and two kids with a job that payed like $3,000 a year. That's like a dollar fifty an hour in wages, with a spouse who does nothing but be a "house wife" to boot. Gas was 18 cents, a Car was $1,000 and a house was like $8,000. Wages have not come ANYWHERE close to adjusting.
