Well yeah, when the avg pay ends up being less than min wage and barely covers gas, this is the quality of whats out there

Uber and ubereats (and similar) are such scummy companies. Just hire full time drivers and pay them

i dunno if you're aware of this, but a lot of restaurants have no interest in delivery or working with these shit stain companies in the first place.

All I know is that Im a shopper and when store employees realize Im working they either get super chill with me or they get weirdly hostile

Dude this is literally where I work. we are super easy to get to and lunch time carryout orders are nearly always ready at the scheduled pick up time and waiting for a driver to come get it.

His story is he was parked in our to-go parking spots staring at our front door and didn't want to get out of his fucking car.

they might just be very very stupid

some of the people doing these type of gig jobs work them because they arent smart enough to get other work and these jobs have no real interviewing process to speak of

i generally try to be cordial with the dashers and such, we all just trying to make a buck. But so many of them are so fuckin rude. Get dudes showing up literally the minute an order is submitted and then getting pissy "why is it taking so long? it's only one item!" Like listen up fucker, a well done burger on the grill doesn't cook any faster just because there's not another one for the same order right next to it. Literally all of the legit tantrums i've seen over wait times have been dashers. my own customers might be noticeably frustrated but they aren't stomping around in a huff like fuckin children.
