That's a difficult question that doesn't really have a singular answer that encapsulates the whole problem. Part of my problem is how neurotic I am, x.x . My insecurities and personal flaws are large and drive people away, and I guess I have fairly high standards, too; i'm not usually happy with a bare minimum in terms of criteria... What I think and feel is different from most and that usually puts me at odds with others.

What would be possible? Nothing, really... i've been in therapy for nearly six years (and have seen about four different therapists) and haven't made any made any progress, so it only reinforces how broken I am.

I've mostly been given a number of coping techniques that I fail to properly to use and advice on how to begin to minimize my social anxiety, but i'm too afraid to really do anything different, so... no progress. They've openly admitted to seeing few options for me to better my situation, too.

Getting away from my mom, for a start. I panic heavily if I get too far away from her, so I always need her within eyesight if i'm out of my house...

Abuse from other people, physical or emotional. I was bullied heavily while growing up and never had any actual positive reinforcement to counteract it, so i've been conditioned to not expect anything else.

No, but on that same token, I don't spend much time out of my house, either. When I am out, my mom handles all of my talking for me.

You seem alright on here. I can see the anxiety being a pretty big hurdle in making friends though. On the upside, youve got some people in your life that genuinely love you. So that's pretty awesome.

I do agree with your views on significant others not being your friend though. Separate category imo.

people are also kind, I never met anyone who was cruel to me, ever except online obviously but you shouldnt give a crap about that

I think its more in your head than anything, and if its because of the weight then I guess either lose the weight or stop giving fucks about what people think of it, cant go through life trying to please people you dont even know, thats no way to live

Also, you are very lucky, then. There's a lot of hatred and intolerance in the world, and i'm guessing you haven't been the subject of any of it.

adults dont usually go around bullying other adults in the real world, its common place as children and teenagers but when people mature then not so much, I dont think Im particularly lucky, it is also the case for probably all of my friends

People wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at me, but me being trans does make me an "undesirable" to most, and with all the hatred I see towards transpeople (both on a small scale and on a larger one, like in politics), the chances of people not accepting me if they knew are higher than not. I've seen people like me described as freaks or monsters enough that it's natural to just not trust people to be decent.

How do you justify having high standards for people to yourself, given your situation?
