Yeah, I was invested in the story. I was sad that the anime ended the way it did. There were several anime from around that time that just ended and never gave closure to anime only fans.

I loved the anime, not sure why but of all the anime I watched I only rewatched that like 3 times. The characters were so badass. Sad it never got continued

i ended up reading the manga. very enjoyable but the ending leaves much to be desired. kinda seems like there is a set-up for a sequel but i know that is never gonna happen

just imagine if AOT ended w/ the basement arc. it felt like that to me

No. The last portion devolved into a lot of nonsense happening for the sake of it with it being left on a huge cliffhanger.

News to me. Shame to hear since it seemed pretty cool from the early chapters I read.

It was really good for like 85% of the series. The last 15% felt like a rushed mess, which felt like it was getting canceled. A lot of things just happened without any real buildup and then ends. The ending I guess was satisfying for Clare herself but the larger story was left on a cliffhanger.

Clare's story is the story. The other continent stuff was sequel bait and just world building, besides the claymore's weren't worried about the main continent war just their own island. It's not a cliffhanger at all.

shit was surprisingly good

I think that was one of, if not the very first, manga I read to completion. Seeing that get a full adaptation would be pretty sweet.

I remember reading that manga up until the godawful scanlation group Franky House picked it up and started getting their terrible version of the manga to all the hosting sites first. I pretty much had to drop it at that point because anything those guys touched turned to shit cause the quality of their work was just awful.

While the manga didn't have the best ending it still had a better ending then the anime imo. That Claire Priscilla fight hit different in the manga

One of the first anime I ever watched. I found it boring. But I find most medieval style media boring.

Don't really remember much about it. I liked it though.

I liked it, but remember nearly dropping it 3 eps in as it seemed really generic at that point.

There was no reason to even bring up the continent war if there wasn't a plan for it then. The way everything happened after the time skip the series either got cancelled or the mangaka got bored of it.

It was just the backstory for the Claymore's and Yoma's existence. It never went into any more detail because none of it really mattered to what was going on where the story was taking place.

As mentioned above, the story was all about Clare. The ending was pretty much set up from her backstory arc, and was fulfilled quite well imo.

Not quite as epic as something like the Ushio to Tora manga, but still a solid and satisfying final fight and epilogue.

But it was just there for backstory. The dragons obviously aren't going to care about the island if the organization is destroyed, they may have decided to conquer it one day but it's not an important part of the story we are witnessing.

The series ran for another 90 chapters after the time skip, being a monthly series that's another 8 years. They wouldn't have given a cancelled manga 90 chapters to finish and there's no way the mangaka is writing something they're bored with for another 8 years.

Just because the world building that explained why there was Claymores was introduced doesn't mean it needed to be expanded on. The story was not about the war.
