First game was about a virus I think that infects NYC and then it becomes a lawless zone

2nd one I think is about terrorists taking over Washington DC

The main plot of the novel (Rainbow Six) is about is a group of radical environmentalists that create a virus that they plan to release at the Australian Olympics. They would only give the antidote to a few chosen few, but they would release a "vaccine" which in turn is a slow acting version of said virus. There are several other side plots going on.
