It isnt overpopulated. We just arent a species that will take care of those in need. The wealth of resources isnt shared to take care of all, even if we have the means to do so.

Regardless of the population, there will always be some who do not get enough.

this is not a matter of what anyone believes or doesn't believe, the earth is factually not overpopulated.

No.

People who think the world is overpopulated tend to ignore the fact that we live incredibly privileged and selfish lives and consume a grossly disproportionate amount of the world's resources.

The current population is completely sustainable. The problem is the wasteful way we use the world's resources.

Only certain parts are currently because there is a lot of land that can be lived on that hardly has any people on it. And that's being considerate of wildlife. The only people saying we're dangerously overpopulated are some capitalists trying to fearmonger and gain from inflation and artificial scarcity. There is more than enough to go around, some people are just evil, greedy fucks and want to create systems to enslave and destroy others while using what they have to gain power, influence and authority.

IIRC the cost to end world hunger forever is still slated at less than $100 billion (and is just around $50 billion). Unless that cost gets to be above what a literal single person can pay I find it hard to believe that there are too many humans.

Its impossible.
What changed is more people live in cities now instead of towns and farms. Cities are overpopulated, not the world.

It was from a study a while back, about 10 years ago. Obviously the number from the study no longer holds that much water, vut that is why I put the $100 billion, or flat out more than double what the study found, as well.

Feeding everyone is actually pretty cheap when talking about actual $ amounts, it's the massive dragon-like piles of gold that the .1%'ers have that distort things pretty hard.

I dunno if we are overpopulated per se, but we are fucking up the world (waste, raising temperature, water) and wasting it's resources to sustain us. Lots of species going extinct over the past 100 years. Are we replenishing more wildlife/trees land as we are cutting down?

We can handle all the people currently alive and then some.

The problem isn't that there are too many people, it's that we don't want to do anything to deal with the people we have. We have an unsustainable way of life and don't want to change that.

It really isnt when you consider how much empty space is on this planet. The problem is the amount of compassion the number of people have for each other.

Overpopulation isn't really a problem, as Malthus predicted

Africa's population is going to continue to surge for the foreseeable future, but North America, Europe, and East Asia is projected to plateau in the coming decades

Yes, in terms of what our infrastructure as a species can handle. It's not about the actual number, but the ability for everyone to equally thrive. If everyone was brainwashed to work together like an ant colony, we probably could, but our inability to do that is equated into the issue.

Over population is no longer a concern, population decline is actually starting to become a big problem for a lot of countries. Gen Z is about 30% smaller than Millenials, which was smaller than the generations before it. Not having enough people to produce the goods that the whole population needs could be devastating.

People talk about overpopulation yet today we have different types of birth control. Yet that hasnt helped?

If 50% of men today became monks, trained their body and mind, hit the gym and channeled their sexual energy instead of wasting it, it would help lower unwanted births in broken homes.

yeah, we are fucking up the world, but overpopulation isn't the cause of that. we can address all those things and work toward a solution to all of them without any change whatsoever in the world population. climate change in particular can be solved right now if every county in the world started instituting measures to change to clean energy sources, etc., but it's not profitable enough to do so, so governments are dragging their feet.

the spirit of both of these posts is an expression of how the rate of population growth changes as a civilization or nation develops. it is explained the most concise and best way i've found in this Kurzgesagt video that i post pretty much time the topic of the myth of overpopulation comes up:
