his Let's Play channel can be extremely frustrating to watch, but he is very fortunate to be where he is currently considering the circumstances of his life during his teenage/young adult years.

Admirable in the sense he's got a largely successful business going, yeah. Wish I had that kinda thing. Or hell, working as part of his company being an editor or random staff member would be cool.

He seems like a mostly chill guy who lucked out into a LP career. I don't know how admirable that is.

Ding Dong and Julian did something that made Game Grumps mad and Super Mega chose to not stand up for them. The 2 got blacklisted in LA and Ding Dong possibly had his sexuality revealed to his family. That's why Ding Dong and Julian left OneyPlays and moved out of LA

Game Grumps are the main villains in this. Super Mega's wrongdoing was in not stepping in to defend Ding Dong and Julian. So if they ever own up to that, they could possibly be forgiven maybe

There is no solid details. The only people who actually know exactly what happened are the people at Game Grumps, Super Mega and OneyPlays. The guilty people don't want to talk about it, and the one who suffered the most, Ding Dong, has always been very private

Rumor is it had to do with a game Game Grumps made, called Dream Daddy. A gay dating sim. Ding Dong and Julian are gay. Its believed that some people convinced them to speak up about the game because some people felt the game was just using gay people as a tool and wasn't actually respectful of real gay people.

I don't know if any actual gay people even worked on the game. Super Mega is thought to have been the people who got Ding Dong and Julian to speak up and then failed to defend them in the fallout

No details on the suicide attempt. I wouldn't be surprised if only Julian knows everything about that. Its just known that he ended up not going through with it, or it failed. But Ding Dong has said he would have left a note that explained the whole story and all the guilty people, had he gone through with it. He says he stil intends to do that whenever he dies. I think he told Julian that if he dies before him, that Julian is to make public everything

It's not a rumor. Both Ding Dong and Julian have confirmed that them speaking out against Dream Daddy was the catalyst behind everything, including the doxxing of Ding Dong and him being publicly outed to his incredibly homophobic family.

It was also confirmed that the entire team working on Dream Daddy, except for the people who came up with the game and Arin himself, were absolutely miserable the whole time they were making it and didn't feel comfortable writing a gay dating sim without having a single gay person involved in the process.

As far as Super Mega, it was also confirmed by both parties involved (DD&J, Super Mega themselves) that Matt handled it like an absolute shithead by getting the two of them involved by leaking them an early build and encouraging them to speak up, and then completely ghosting them when things went to shit. Ryan was at least honest and up front to DD&J that he wanted to say something but couldn't because his career was in a very vulnerable place at the time and he didn't want to have to move back home and work a dead-end job.

Unfortunately the video where Ding Dong recently spoke out about it went private, but to summarize things: Somebody at the Game Grumps office (this identity was never confirmed and as far as I'm aware is still unknown) chose to retaliate against Ding Dong saying he was opposed to Dream Daddy by doxxing him; DD is always very careful about anonymity and thus never uses his real name or face online. Part of this doxxing involved telling his family directly, who was already known to be homophobic and reacted in the predictable way, driving DD to attempt suicide (or at least get very close to attempting it) until Julian was able to talk him down.

Arin's response to this situation was basically to shrug, not make any statement or effort to find out who doxxed DD, and allow Dream Daddy to continue being developed and released despite this.

What I can, however, provide is a Reddit post Matt from Super Mega made in response to the video, which verifies that it all happened, although he has since edited the post to trim it down, sanitize his part in everything, and removed some of the context (although you can probably pick it up from the replies).

When he unintentionally drove his his stupid fans to harass the creator of a Sonic Adventure FAQ that was made in like 2004 and when his now wife lied about where she was sourcing her jewelry from. And BOTH times he ended up being indignant about it.

The part of the game they looked the FAQ up for was in relation to a part of the game where they had to collect things that were randomly placed, and the locations could change from game to game because they weren't predetermined. They didn't like that the FAQ didn't point them to exactly where these randomly placed and inconsistent objects were.

He also one time made a tear filled apology video about forgetting to do Halloween videos on his channel one year. They always play a bunch of horror games in October and call it Ghoul Grumps. One year he forgot about it

I feel like it wasn't luck. He was huge on Newgrounds for his animations, and he later leveraged that popularity into said let's play channel.

That popularity and also Jontron's, who was fairly successful on his own and not yet known for being a white supremacist. Although if you watch the first year of Game Grumps now it's not very secret.

Arin has always leeched off of people who are more talented than him. Perhaps that makes him a good businessman in his own right but it is far from admirable.

i think the first time i realized arin was an asshole was when he was at a game grumps panel and some socially broken nerdy guy was asking him about his animation and used the word gimmick as a filler word to describe it and Arin (who I dont think had animated a single thing in like 5 years at the time) went "ARE YOU CALLING MY ANIMATION A GIMMICK?" and tried to menace the guy

After that I started noting just more and more aggravating things about him. He endlessly nitpicks games he doesn't like and acts indignant that he "has" to play them for game grumps, acts like a huge bitch any time anyone calls them out about something, and in general just seems really unpleasant.

Game Grumps reminds me of other stuff like Critical Role and My Brother My Brother and Me that got popular with zoomers and younger millenials and tried to clean up their image a lot. Except those two are a lot better at looking corporate and proper, whereas when Arin and Dan try to do it they end up looking fake and obnoxious.

Alright, I take back my post saying that he's a mostly chill guy. I didn't know all that about the Dream Daddy development.

One of the two videos the released right after that one was the trailer for the game. They live streamed it about 6 times. He mentioned it by name several times. They had merch for it in their store.

That was Soviet Jump Game.

He did the same thing with his shitty young adult mystery book by saying his mother was bullying him into promoting his equally bullying uncle to promote his book on Game Grumps, which prompted members of the fanbase to start empathizing with him and sharing their true stories of emotional manipulation or abuse from their families.

Then it came out that his "uncle" was just Arin in an old man costume, the fanbase was disgusted, and Arin didn't really apologize for misleading people in a way that made so many of them feel vulnerable. Then he did it again when he wrote a second book.
