Turkey, NATO's second largest member and army, is considering to hold peace talks with Assad. Turkey considers withdrawing its troops from Syria, if Assad is willing to take control of the border regions and deal with the "terrorists", that being the Kurdish SDF. Seeing how President Biden has pretty much abandoned the Kurds in Syria, it will only be a matter of time before either Assad or Turkey takes their regions. If Turkey agrees, then this could threaten US presence in Syria, since the US operates in the middle east via Turkey. Turkey has also offered to be a mediator in Russia- Ukraine peace talks against US objections and outright refused to participate in sanctions against Russia, even applying to join BRICS+, a new economic alliance spearheaded by Russia and China.

Doesn't look good for the US or Biden when America's largest, most important ally is closer to the adversary than the US.

We need to kick Turkey out of NATO. They are more of an ally to Russia than they are to NATO.

NATO is pretty much the US and Turkey in terms of military power, the rest are just paper tigers.

Thats why Turkey is so important to the US, that they were willing to tolerate their shenanigans for so many decades, even turning on another fellow NATO member in the Cyprus war, in which the US helped Turkey take the northern part of Cyprus.

It was Trump who kicked the ball by abandoning the Kurds first, TC.

Nixon did, Carter did, Ford did, Reagan did, Clinton did, Bush, Obama, Trump and so does Biden.
It's policies like these why the US will be left without allies.

Abandoning the Kurds is like Tuesday for the world.

They share the same fate as the Khmer Republic, Georgia, the Greek Cypriots and other allies, only they still stand.
