I assumed it was going to be a joke but the ending message about reading the room is really stupid

Those men are still in the wrong . Any person with eyes would know he was watching his tablet or phone

And nobody would expect that he would have even heard their conversation . They were talking quietly, and he is way down the train

Also there are medical conditions that make people laugh for no reason and he had that condition in the movie
