And while it was FAR away from being either the scariest, or most entertaining of the entire franchise.....i appreciate that it tried to do something different with the psychological breakdown of Corey, Laurie and Alison's relationship, Michael not entirely being the focus etc.

It wasnt great. Not awful, enjoyed it a bit more than Kills.

So after reading up on it, Blumhouse is done with the franchise. Akkad (forget his first name, his dad was producer on the OG) plans on making more entries. Jamie Lee has said she's done.

So where does this series even go now? Michael is obliterated into stew chunks at the end, so he's not coming back. I really hope it isn't another reboot, or another retcon, or an alternate timeline.

It could have been good as a different franchise. But this was the ending to a 40 year saga and deserved a better ending. They wasted the final chapter of Michael on some babysitter going crazy

They can always retcon this and make a different story but they will never have Jamie Lee Curtis again. So I'm pissed off

I think you've eliminated all possibilities

Agree with this, but Jamie Lee Curtis may change her mind in 18 years and then maybe we'll get Halloween H60

It's a baffling movie. All for new takes but this seemed real sloppy and rushed. Maybe that'll change down the road after the what the fuck was that wears off.

I really like Hallowen Ends. It's a flawed film and you do have to take it out it's context (ignore that it's the final movie of a trilogy and view it as its own thing) but it gets waaay too much hate. It does too many things right and interesting for it to be a steaming trash pile like the majority of horror fans want you to think it is.

I think the ending is what brings it down alot. The last 10 minutes (which is what most people praise in this movie) is some of the most cliche and predictable scenes. It just throws out all of the interesting and cool shit the movie was building up to.

the whole point of the movie is that it is the end of its trilogy, and the concluding fourth movie of an overall franchise

it fails completely if you have to take it out of that context to find enjoyment from it
