darkmaian23 12/30/22 6:07:14 PM #1:	I saw a younger 20-something relative over Christmas, and I discovered they watch Tiktok and short Youtube videos almost exclusively. Even when they do watch an actual show, they spoil everything with cleverly edited TikTok videos and wiki deep dives. They get most of their news and form their beliefs about what is going on the world from TikTok. Family movies are something everyone enjoys (and this particular person is a huge fan of movies), and even when they are excited to watch something and are enjoying it, they constantly ask questions about what is happen or what is going to happen, and if you aren't clear upfront about not wanting to be spoiled, they'll go ahead and look up spoilers, spoil the movie or show for you, and Segway into talking about how they feel about the spoilers instead of watching the damn movie. They will also ramble on incoherently about some half remembered story someone told them about something they saw on Twitter, and they'll do it for hours. You are watched carefully to see if you don't seem to be paying attention or make a comment to another person during the monologue, and they get mad and remember it for later. If you aint on tiktok dawg you out da loop I'm aware it's popular, but the way it was described to me makes it seem like it learns what you like, and then creates an endless feed of short videos that make your perspective feel validated instead of challenging you or showing you varied content.
