I hate when cops cheat by camping in corners that are hard to see. Not sure if that was how they caught you tc but I hate when they do that. They don't do their job honoroubly imo

It depends on the scenario. Passing one person on a fairly empty road by going 20 over is not inherently dangerous. Going 20 over the limit while weaving in and out of lanes is dangerous.

Going 20 over is riskier, yes. But danger depends on the conditions.

Generally the legal limit allows for a person to consume 1 standard drink every hour. For an experienced drinker that is not enough to feel intoxicated. Thats why they allow an amount of alcohol in your blood.

Whether someone feels impaired or not, it absolutely does affect their mental faculties.
They've simply become accustomed to the feeling of it and it's now "normal" for them.

The number of people in here suggesting a DUI "Isn't a big deal." is astounding to me.

Based on my skimming of the topic, it seems like they're saying not a big deal from a legal and penalty perspective in some cases (i.e. 48 hours of community service and a $1500 fine is really not a big deal in the grand scheme of things).

It IS a big deal morally, yes. But I haven't gotten the notion that anyone here is saying "drinking and driving is fine."

But that's just my interpretation.

You've missed my point entirely. They don't feel the vertigo/balance issues that come with it, but their judgement and decision making are absolutely impaired. As well as their motor skills.

Not feeling impaired doesn't mean you're safe to drive.

My point is that being above those legal limits (imo even at the limits) and saying "I'm fine, I know my body." Or "I'm a heavy drinker I'm good." Is fucking idiotic.

I personally won't drive even after a beer, but that's personal choice.

Either I misinterpreted your posts, or misunderstood the point behind them.

My point stands regardless. Whether someone "feels" intoxicated isn't yhe point. They're a danger on the road and should feel bad about what they're doing.

Considering your first response to me was basically reiterating what I said minus the reasoning behind there even being a legal limit yea id say our communication has not been on point. As a professional driver I adhere pretty strictly to the rules of the road, because any hit to my drivers license affects my career.
