His parents have been here for years but don't know English and only speak to him in Spanish yet when I talk to him in Spanish it is so bad lol.

They probably didnt teach him when he was young.

Is Spanish your first language? When taught Spanish I was always told what we were taught was pretty different than that of people raised with Spanish as a first language.

Probably like pidgin which is what some people in Hawaii speak. Really hard to communicate with them, I understand what they're saying but they don't understand me at all

Both mine and his first language is Spanish.

Oh wow. Is that a true statement tho? I never really got to test it, my Spanish is real bad...I guess that's probably hard to know if you're fluent and never were really taught right...
