Tyrannical showrunner and her coven of writers was likely going to warp the next season into her precious "vision" loaded with crap that looked out-of-series to fans while exploiting Cavill's name and image on the project to do it. They just wanted to use him to get their own writing disasters on screen and likely planned to ridiculously warp it all into something viewers would not recognize as The Witcher (which is basically what happened with Blood Origin). It's not even a new tactic for shady Hollywood. Props on Cavill for having the stones to walk away from what looked like a sinking ship captained by idiots. I wish Michelle Yeoh did the same. She's an amazing actress in her own right and it was depressing to see her brought in to save garbage that can't be salvaged. Decided to make myself suffer and watch the full thing. Didn't realise was only 4 episodes now. And... I just don't know. The actors largely all felt fine and did well with what they had, but everything just felt so generic? Then add on making the world smaller and down to "everyone important is related" I ended up just feeling very indifferent. I've never read the books, so I don't know if this was actually changed or not, but it doesn't help any imo. And a lot of the dialogue felt like it was written to be quoted, rather than for making sense. --- Let's make biscuits! ... Copied to Clipboard!
