"Somehow, Military Guy returned."

Gonna laugh my silly little ass off if that turns out to be true.
This is literally true.

I don't need to see a movie to know how well the characters are handled- Danyarmy

It'll be hilarious if this flops since the first movie was the highest grossing of all-time

I've said this before, but does anybody really give a shit about 'Avatar' beyond making fun of unobtainium?

It's still up in the air over whether or not it'll live up to the original in terms of financial success, but in the current movie climate there's virtually no scenario where it doesn't do gangbusters at the box office.

If story is all that matters, read a book instead of being weird about film.

I think itll make a lot of money but not close to the first

The market is just different. Even if i like a movie, why would i go rewatch in theatres when i know itll be at my house soon

Was hoping it would be drastically different like other James Cameron sequels, but every time I see commercials I think it's for Avatar 1 returning to theaters at first.

Normally I would agree even though I enjoy the theater experience more than most, but Avatar has always been the exception. There's a reason the highest grossing movie of all time fell off the face of the planet for the last decade. Because it was only good in theaters.

You ever catch it playing on HBO or something at a hotel? It's just brutal. Granted those are 42 inch weak ass filler TVs, but even on my Qled, it's just not the same.

It's the definition of a theater movie. That said, it won't do close to the first, I agree. I think Avatar 1 also got a ton of rewatch sales because of how surprisingly awesome the visuals were at the time. I know I saw it three times because it coincided with my stoner years, so I for one just went in blazed, shut my brain off, and relished the pretty lights. There's value to be had there, but the "surprise" factor is pretty much gone now. We know to expect pretty lights and no story, the latter of which people didn't expect going into 1.

I watched it last night in 3D. My cinema doesnt usually do 3D anymore. There must be something wrong with their 3D projector because the 3D didnt work for the first 15-20 minutes. They restarted the movie after it was fixed. The Avatar 1 rerelease a few months ago had the same issue but they fixed it faster.

It was really good. Probably better than the first one, although very similar. The second two thirds are set in the ocean instead of the forest. I would say its definitely worth watching unless you hated the first one.

The graphics are amazing. They did a really good job with the water and fish.

With the character design with how little clothing the blue people wear. All the female characters have very carefully placed clothing to not see any nipple. I only mention it because there is one short scene with nipple because there was no way to cover it that would make sense in that scene.
