Depending on how an interview today goes Im either moving out of the state next month for new opportunities or Im moving back in with my mom.

hopefully the first thing. And hopefully my gf will come with me.

what were you doing for work before you quit?

I was working in HR for a real estate firm. It was actually a pretty decent gig and I enjoyed my coworkers but I got a very promising offer (pending a drug test and final interview) to work a lot closer to my parents who are sick. And this new job is a lot more in line with where Id like to be in 5 years.

hopefully it all works out lol Im turning in all my keys and work tech on Monday morning.

Its also not a whole lot, but I have enough money saved to pay for my apartment until the summer and buy the basic necessities if I need to for some reason. Id like to not blow my savings but if this all goes up in flames, at least Im not homeless until May, anyway.

It went well. They said itll take a few days to get the drug work and background check cleared, but other than that, I should be good. Signed the offer letter today.

@SoreChasm whens the last time you updated your phone? If you have the latest iPhone do you recommend I upgrade this year or next year?

tbh idk of any good pedals that do fuzz and wah. buy a ehx big muff pi and a cheap wah. The BMP is my favorite fuzz pedal and its relatively cheap. you kinda need an amp with some sorta gain or an overdrive pedal to make fuzz sound decent though. sorry kinda drunk lol pm me here or Instagram in the morn for a better answer cause i could talk about this for literal hours lmao

I want to leave my cesspool state, but the fact I'm no longer remote means I'd need to find something else first... and I'm kinda iffy on looking right now. But, with a recession likely on the way, I probably should. idk. I like my company, boss, coworkers, etc, but it's such a fucking lousy state and it's only getting worse.

Got an iPhone 13 Pro about a year ago. Was using a 7 before that, so I figured I was overdue for an upgrade. Getting a new phone every 4-5 years has been working out for me so far.

where are you trying to move to?

also what is your gf thinking about all of this?

Yeah I have the 13 Pro as well. I am eligible for an upgrade, but I dont love the dynamic island gimmick. I might wait for the 15 to see if it looks better or maybe just done away with.

Shes excited about being moved, but nervous about moving. I start the next job pretty soon so we have a lot to do in not a lot of time.

well I had already left Texas, I was living in San Francisco for 3 years before my move. But I went back to Texas for a couple months in between. Including Austin. Was kinda underwhelmed... hated how I ran out of sidewalks and couldn't walk anywhere. Stroads suburbia. Austin kinda lost its magic maybe cause that was my first city really and going elsewhere shows it doesn't offer much especially with its price increase.

I'm glad I made the move over here. UK has its own problems, but I left for reasons that still stand and chose Scotland for reasons I still appreciate. Made friends with bumble BFF, DND group with work, pub quiz nights with work, got a bf. Can't complain, enjoying it here. experiencing some new things with living abroad. I'm really excited about next year with all the PTO I have so I can travel throughout Europe pretty easily being nearby, as that was one of the big pros.

The presidents have numbers, on top of Lincoln, Teddy and Andrew Jackson. I could see Bush Jr. being a scrappy lil shit and Obama having a mean hook, but otherwise Id have to give it to The Expendables, specifically if were talking from the second movie, since I think Van-Damme and Norris were good additions, along with Bruce Willis still being in the series at that point.

I hope things go well for you with this move :) being closer to family (when you're on good terms) is nice.

I flew over here and started working but I was not at all moved in, just juggled life tasks (flat hunting, furnishing apartment, getting my cat over here) with work and it was difficult but made it through in the end
