The first one is still one of the best movies of all time. It never reaches those levels. But this remake is much, much better than the TV movie remake. Its decent. Doesnt look quite as nice as, say, 1917, but it gets the job done in terms of cinematography. Doesnt follow the source material as closely as some other adaptations but I dont think that hurts it. Definitely worth a watch. DeadBankerDream posted... Does it matter if its good? I will watch it regardless. I'm a huge fan of the novel and both of the films. My user name in Verdun, Tannenburg and Izone are Alls Quite.
