I mainly watch NFL, NBA, MLB and cant remember any of those teams walking out holding hands with kids or even having people in wheelchairs with them.

I know I've seen this happen in MLB, at least have kids walk out to the positions with them.

The NFL just pimps the military for money but baseball has a lot of kids involved just not in the introductions.

but soccer does it for a lot of reasons but the introductions arent as hype as other sports. Its a calm walk to the field.

Just think. Now you're all set to hunt and kill to your heart's content.

Football was the entertainment for the working/lower class people back in the days.

Football fans are very 'passionate'. In other words, vulgar as fuck. Back then it was worse. There are still a lot of vulgar chants for the opposition teams nowadays.

So it's supposed to tame these fans when the players walk out with these 'mascots'.

It's just a fan thing. Also it's about the kids who love football and going to matches. Extra tickets for the parents. It's a promotion thing about the sport. It happens in the USA etc but probably not televised.
