PowerOats posted... Delaying the inevitable to outlast the opponents inevitable demise ( like toxic) Not even just that. You are also stalling out an opposing pokemon's pp. Recover and Roost had more PP than a lot of strong sweeping moves meant you could easily outlast offensive threats especially if you had pressure. --- http://i.imgur.com/BBcZDLJ.png ... ShotWaifu posted... Never understood the point of moves like those. You're just delaying the inevitable. On their own sure. But pair them with a hyper defensive pokemon that also has entry hazards up (and stuff like Toxic or moves like Roar/Whirlwind/etc.to force the opponent into taking damage from the hazards) and it can decimate a team that doesn't have an answer for said defensive Pokemon (or that answer has already been taken out). ... The faster a Pokemon game is, the more it is subject to luck. Not just crits, burns, and misses, but also guessing what your opponent will do before you have data to make a prediction. Playing offense against offense is like playing 1 hand of poker and declaring a winner. "Stall haters" are generally just impatient people who barely understand the game. You can already see people in this thread who don't understand the game on a basic level. This doesn't just hurt "stall" teams, but also slow teams that set up for 1-2 sweepers, bulky offense, mixed teams, and a lot more. Will lowering PP really kill stall? I doubt it, the Slowbro line is looking scary with that U-turn Snow setter. But I wish GameFreaks would give slower pokemon more to hit back with when they make the right play. Need less Seismic Toss Chansey and more EQ Gligar or even bulky Garchomp. Cleff kinda fits in between, but Cleff can die in a fire precisely because it breaks stall in half. Giving slower pokes a set up might be a solution, but that eschews all the issues stall aims to avoid by increasing failure states from RNG (crits, status, misses, flinch). --- "You're sorely underestimating the power of nostalgia goggles." - adjl http://www.smbc-comics.com/comics/20110218.gif ... ShotWaifu posted... Never understood the point of moves like those. You're just delaying the inevitable. Nah, an extra turn on toxic, or reading a pivot, can make all the difference. A lot of offensive moves and abilities got nerfed hard so it kind of balances out Most mons can't get knock off anymore. It's been the most broken widely available offensive more for the past 3 gens or so and now it's basically gone. Zacians forms got nerfed hard.
