They've seen maybe 10-20 non-superhero, non-pixar movies in their entire lives and generally find the idea of sitting down and watching a movie to be boring.

What happened to make the very concept of watching a movie into some kind of chore? Is this trend continuing with the under-25 crowd as well?

Movies got hit with the "capitalism ruins everything" bug and are all basically the same churned-out nonsense with no real distinguishing characteristics so people have just stopped caring if they aren't already invested.

And once you get to a certain age kids stop caring as well.

i used to see at least a movie a week, but it just stopped being worth it for me. i dont like bein around all the other people, all the ambient noise and cell phone lighting, the prices

ok but they dont seem to like older movies either

Theres ways to get content thats more suited for your specific tastes, and faster. That, and many dont want to go to the movie theater alone, so even if a movie sounds interesting, it isnt enough to make them go out or otherwise seek it out.
