Did they lose bigly? They still might take the House, and some horrid politicians like Ron Johnson won. Really, they just didn't have the historical wins they were expecting. That's not much of a loss, not with gerrymandering and control of the Supreme Court. They probably can't impeach Biden over and over again, but Democrats don't have the seats necessary. Roe v. Wade did this, but with time and gerrymandering they will eventually take the Legislative Branch, and with Moore v. Harper coming up, they'll never lose the Presidency again.

All that happened is that the big Republican win was slowed. We still can't do a thing about gerrymandering, the courts, or passing legislation that doesn't suck. The decline will just take longer.

our government is full goose patrol

we need to rewrite the entire thing. Nobody would use onions or tomatoes that were 200 years old. Is our constitution less valuable than a tomato?

I'm so glad Trump's hold is fading. I can't wait for the lunacy of bumper stickers to fade out too. Still a while, but we can laugh at these morons that their candidate is just a loser. And they back a loser.

You are way too doomerism in this moment...even though ultimately some of what you say may come to fruition. But in this election, Americans flat out rejected election deniers and the fascist movement of the modern GOP. Moore v. Harper is incredibly worrisome, but we don't know what will happen with it and there's no need to jump to conclusions.

In this election, Dems bucked a 20 year plus midterm trend of the opposing party dominating. Gen Z did their damn job and showed up hard for Dems. Abortion rights were enshrined in multiple state constitutions, including freaking Kentucky. Progressives won huge and the House has a new squad of 'em. There's some stuff worth celebrating for once. I guess this is the part where I would add "touch grass."

I'm personally quite a bit more hopeful about America's future than I've been in a long time. My biggest worry is the Dems running Biden again in 2024, especially against DeSantis. It would be disastrous, but who knows if they can stop him from running.

Republicans are rightfully panicking because this is one of the worst performances by the opposing party in a midterm in recent history. If this happened under "normal" conditions it might not cause the GOP to panic much, but the fact this is happening with a terrible economy is not good for the GOP.

Dems fended off a lot more seats than expected, and it's rare for a midterm to do this well.

Also, if the remaining ballots turn out in Democrat's favor in Nevada (And they can, since there's still a good chunk in the Reno and Vegas areas), Dems may even pick a senate seat up.

AND this midterm shown that people are starting to reject Trumpism.

All I know is I want federal funding pulled/withheld from Arizona & Nevada until they can modernize their vote counting. This is beyond ridiculous that the nation has to wait on these states to count votes possibly up to 2 weeks post-Election Day.
