Seems like a decent gig to make some extra cash. Base rate is $18/hr, but you can easily get contracts paying $25-30/hr

supposedly weekends pay a little better. Im gonna do my first one Saturday morning. Trying to learn the general procedure before doing it at night.

Haven't heard of it, but I do drive for a living on weekdays, so a easy aide hustle on the weekends are something to consider.

if you dont mind me asking- do you do transport, food delivery, regular delivery etc

I don't know anything about this.

Is this using your own car to deliver Amazon packages? Multiple packages or one package at a time?
What's the hours listed on that pic? Hours you'll be making deliveries? OR an estimated time to make a delivery that's kinda far away?

Yeah, you use your own vehicle. So you have to factor in mileage and gas, but you can claim it for your taxes as well.

I believe youre getting like 35-50 packages depending on the block. But some of those can be those little plastic envelope packages.

and its more of an estimate. A few people told me Ill probably go over the expected time for the first couple deliveries, until I get used to organizing the car in an efficient way.

youre told to show up to the warehouse up to 15 mins early, and no more than 5 mins late.

its good to show up early to get a head start on loading up the car

but apparently some people get there as late as possible, because you will still get paid if you show up and all the packages are already picked up lol

You have to enter what kind of vehicle youre driving. So its possible that bigger vehicles get bigger routes, Im not too sure.

And yeah I can imagine if youre somewhere rural, the demand might not be too high. But Im right outside of Cleveland.

im curious how profitable my car will be. I have to get 93 octane and probably only get like 20-25mpg

my co worker made 6k this year. Its just supplemental income.

she typically only does one block per week, so thats decent cash considering.

Yep. Just trying to get some debt paid off, and start squirreling away some money before the baby comes.

Could help with the cost of a nanny too, if we go that route.

Just keep in mind that if you use your car to make money, you need to inform your insurance company.
If you don't, any accidents that occur won't be covered.

I believe you just need to have insurance, Amazon still has their commercial insurance.

similar to renting a vehicle.

they only asked that I had insurance, not what kind or for a policy number etc.

they did say that if you have other people in the vehicle, they are not covered.

Not where I live.
If you use your own vehicle for work you HAVE to declare it to insurance.

Same if you drive for Skip, DoorDash, Uber, etc.

Where I live, they can cancel your policy if they find out and you didn't tell them.

my only suggestion is to get two phones or use an old one. have one phone running the flex app exclusively, and your other phone for regular use.

Ive heard vests can be hard to get at the warehouse, so I ended up buying my own for like $10.

Not trying to be walking into peoples yards, or even fenced in areas, with just plain clothes on.

I deliver contruction materials to places like home depot or lowes. Which pays well but is physically demanding at times and very exhausting. Although my hours have been going down more approaching winter so I've had gradually more energy of late.

And in time if I stop needing weekends to recover then I may strongly consider this.

For me it was more so I could make/receive phone calls and stuff without interrupting the app. I was a regular van driver though for a few months. We had to have an app that monitored whether we were touching the phone while the vehicle was on lol.

I've done flex on and off for a few years now. Can be an ok gig. Nice to be able to be in and out of it as you need/feel like. I'm usually done in way less time than it gives. But gotta make sure you keep track of how much you're driving on each of these routes to make sure it's really benefiting you. I only do it during times when there are good surge rates around otherwise I feel like I'm working for little or free with all the hidden costs ie fuel, tires, and other general wear and tear. Usually during holiday season is best ie nov and dec, then some of jan. So far this season is a huge bust in my area. Hardly any surge rates.

Worst kinds of routes are downtown during rush hour or super rural routes at night.

Yeah its really only worth it if you can catch the surges. After seeing what I used in gas, I dont think Ill do them for less than $25-$30

finished up about on time though
