My wife is somewhat supportive but will occasionally bitch if I'm spending too much (which is rare). I love radio, especially shortwave. I've bought several portable receivers over the years that have ranged in price from $30 to near $200. But as I try to explain they all do something a little different or have features I'd like to try out. I got into listening with a cheap Baofeng for awhile and that was awesome. Inspired me to get a police scanner and once I programmed that I've heard some crazy stuff in my small town. Honestly just do you TC. If you enjoy something then go for it.
