PLEASE NO SPOILERS FOR ANYTHING PAST WHERE I SAY I'M AT

ONLY CLICK THE SPOILER BELOW IF YOU KNOW FOR A FACT YOURE AT LEAST PAST CHAPTER 8 because im not actually sure if i've finished 7 or started 8 yet, i dont remember

but i just fought consul Cris/Chrys/Chris however you spell his name. Noah's flute mentor guy with the blonde ponytail

Am I 75% through? close to the end? Wondering if I need to get a new game for the switch before my next two flights, or if I've still got plenty of game left to play on those flights

Probably about 85%-90% through, depending on how you view sidequests/post-game.

Yeah, you're probably right at 75% of the game, if not a bit over. Getting pretty close to the end.

how long would you assess postgame content to be? if there is any?

new game+ doesn't count

It depends on the DLC (I haven't played it) but post-game can easily add around 15-20 hours if you go for all of the superbosses and substantially more than that if you grind up all of the Gems to X (you generally only "need" 2/3 total to beat all of the superbosses prior to the DLC additions if you aren't going to grind them up to max difficulty). It also depends on how far you view "postgame" as technically you can beat most everything pretty snuggly in the "before the final boss" territory but odds are you have dozens of other bosses littering the world that you haven't beaten that can add a pretty non-trivial amount of playtime. Similarly if you want to max out Soulhacker that can add a pretty substantial amount of time as well.

Point being you basically have as much additional playtime as you want because there are a lot of miscellaneous things that you don't normally do over the course of the game under normal circumstances that you can iron out as you go through your travels. Xeno games tend to have pretty obscene potential time sinks and while Xeno 3 is probably the lightest of the bunch it still can easily add 100+ hours in just postgame if you really just want to play it for a while.

What if I don't have the DLC

You're right about the bosses and soulhacker tho

You're at 90%.

After you beat Crys, then you are sent to the final dungeon. Not sure if you would consider this a spoiler, but regarding chapter count, there is no Chapter 8; 7 is the final chapter.

There is some post game stuff that opens up after you beat the game, though.

That was without the DLC. As I said, I don't have it so I don't know how much "relevant" time it brings. The idea is that there is 15-20 hours of stuff that I don't view as stuff that is "filler", things like post-game quests and the superbosses, and things that are more grind for the sake of it, Soulhacker and grinding X on all gems, that can add on time for completionism sake. It's possible that the DLC will make more of it relevant, and thus the non-filler stuff eats up some of what I view as filler (such as needing to grind up more of the gems to actually beat some of the challenges or maxing out all of the classes), but as I don't have the DLC I cannot say what would change in terms of the time needed.
