Post-9/11, pre-Katrina era America was the last good time for this country to me; between the recession, the invention of the smartphone causing the internet to invade every aspect of our lives, and the general social tension stemming from those factors along with the 04 election/Iraq war/Bush admins handling of Katrina + it snowballing into what we have now, the second Bush term felt like a biblical catastrophe that had a domino effect on every aspect of our culture and we never truly recovered. --- nothing happens anymore ... I wish I could have been an grown actual adult in the 90s that would have been so fun. The Obama years were pretty hopeful even if he under delivered. But from like 2014ish on things have been really bad between social media, rising COL, climate change and fascism --- Chewy ...
