It's been longer then that. The right have been calling the left terrorists/terrorist sympathizers since Bush 2, and that melded into both Obama's terms. I just don't understand why people are so afraid of going from an insanely corrupt leadership to another. It's like bro we've been in this situation for a while. And comparing this corrupt leadership to the last, I'm not seeing the last leadership being worse than our current situation.

What needs to happen is to get rid of the policies that enable corrupt politicians. Like massively shorten term limits, bringing in Voter ID to prevent foreign interference, getting rid of corporate lobbying, etc.

You have to be either privileged, live under a rock, or both. Republicans aren't even trying to hide their bullshit anymore. Even if Democrats suck, and they do, they're still better than the openly fascist Republicans.

And yeah, Democrats being weak are a large cause of it. They're too worried about the government institutions themselves and have been playing with one arm tied behind their backs for decades now while Republicans have been openly lying, cheating, and being divisive. The Republican party should have ceased to exist after 1/6.
