Xbox controllers still come with batteries.

The Nintendo Switch pro controller is still my favorite controller of all time and has a battery life of...god who knows.

I wouldn't say superior. I can connect my PS5 controller to the wire and play that way if I want. Having to change out my rechargeable batteries and hope that they didn't lose juice in the months i hadn't touched them...or even having none on hand while gaming and having no way to turn off the game without new batteries...that's just nuts.

I've owned 2 controllers since launch they both last up to 8 hours each even now still. I'd reccomend the Sony charging stand to keep the batteries charged.

I feel like it extended the battery life by keeping them charged and never fully dead or empty.

I bought a Xbox Series X recently actually and I realize I might need to buy rechargeable batteries... Because buying Duracelles are very expensive.

Is that what you guys do?

I bought a Xbox wireless controller (the current version) last month and enjoy it. Very very comfy and the dpad is so nice but loud. I play wired since I have it hooked to my pc which has a crappy Bluetooth connection. I don't have any batteries installed.

I did have a rechargeable battery for my old Xbox one controller but I forgot where I put it tbh. It surprises me that the current controllers don't come with a rechargeable battery. maybe I bought a deluxe package for my old Xbox one controller Idr too well now.

You have to, otherwise its extremely terrible to play with. Unless you like spending all your money on batteries.

My personal choice on controllers are still: Nintendo's Pro controller > Playstation 5 > Xbox Series

Although I don't know if I should count the pro since it doesn't come in with the console and I'd have to count the Elite controller for Xbox but I don't have that one.

Go to Gamestop and ask to take a look at the used controllers.
It won't be powered on so you won't feel the haptics or adaptive triggers, but it's something.

Honestly, even if you don't like call of duty, its probably the best kind of game to play to feel the adaptive triggers. At first, the triggers felt stuck. There was this pressure behind it, like I was actually pulling the trigger of a gun. It was pretty wild at first.

As much as I love my ps5. Yes, and it fuckin sucks. And I don't even play with the extra shit turned on. I turn the speaker and triggers off for everything.

When my nieces come over. It feels like at least 2 of my 3 controllers are always at one bar. Super inconvenient if I don't remember to plug them into chargers.

If your Xbox controller doesn't have batteries you can also plug it in to play.

It probably doesn't do this on an actual XBox, but the one I have for my PC tends to randomly disconnect when I do this. Maybe I'm just yanking the cord loose, but I've never had it fall out. Just d/c's and connects back right away.
