Will it be seen as legal in the future?

Same-sex marriage was illegal until a few years ago, will this marriage prohibition fall also?

Possibly, but there's not really a giant push for it. The stigma that comes with forced cult/religious marriages certainly won't help.

No, because it would only needlessly complicate every law that it came near. Theres no reason for it.

Also, not sure if you know, but pretty much the only parts of polygamy that are illegal only have to do with having marriage licenses with multiple people. Almost everywhere, thats the only illegal bit.

No.

Gay marriage simplified the marriage code, and likewise makes taxation easier.

Polygamy would ridiculously complicate the marriage code and likewise throw wrenches aplenty into tax laws.

They're not really comparable.

For the purposes of marriage from the perspective of the government, there are no benefits to allowing people to have more than one spouse at a time.

Also if you were going to make legal room for it, I think it would be restricted to very specific arrangements (e.g. a complete polycule where every edge is married) as opposed to complicated arrangements where some people are primary partners, etc. etc. etc.

They can't do anything about people choosing to have more then one willing partner. So polyamory is generally legal, if frowned upon by old fuddy duddies.

As for marriage, I'm unsure. If they're going to legalize it however it needs to have strict rules of and not be that archaic shit the fringe mormons still do. Only consenting willing adults. No arranged marriages to minors.
