It's just as good with some additional content. If you've already got the WiiU version I can't say it's worth buying but that's how it goes.

The WiiU tablet must stay within a certain distance of the console, but it stops working when taken outside of that distance.

The maximum recommended distance the Wii U GamePad can be used is 26.25' / 8 m; however, this can vary depending on the play environment.

Ah, true. I had forgotten about that bit. Still, they have the 3DS version so it's not like the point changes in that they already have a portable version.
