Netflix Basic With Ads will launch in the U.S. on Nov. 3 at 9 a.m. PT, priced at $6.99 per month, the company announced. The cheaper plan will be available in 12 countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, the U.K. and the U.S. It will first roll out in Canada and Mexico on Nov. 1.

So this is a choice? You can pay less and get ads or pay the original price for no ads? Tubi is free with ads. Peacock is free with ads (sometimes there are no ads). Why should Netflix get $7/month for ads??

I dont mind because I dont use their service, but as long as they arent raising the original price (like post #4 said), then I dont see the harm in offering a cheaper option for customers.

This...7 bucks is good for all the content they offer even with ads. But if this is just a way to soft sell an increase for the other tiers then fuck them.

Because your run-of-the-mill consumer has no critical thinking skills and just accepts the shit shoved in front of them rather than suffer something as inconvenient as not being subscribed to netflix.
