I've seen people spread the rumor that the initial design for Sonic was just an advanced marketing ploy to get people talking about the movie and they had the "fixed" one in mind the whole time. Well, they got someone who worked with the animation team and they debunked that theory. He did say it likely ended up benefitting the movie though, which I do believe.

Honestly sonic 2 was one of the funniest cgi movies I've ever seen. Great cast, decent plot and can't stress enough how well Carey did...was surprised at how good both of them were tbh
