I would expect another large production cut in November when OPEC+ meets again, hopefully we have a very mild winter or this will be ugly

tbh I've always wondered why America and Britain didn't just swoop in and take all our oil for themselves. They had the entire mideast under their control in the early 20th century it was a weirdly nice decision of them to go with "lets be allies" instead of "we're moving in and taking all your resources" like they did with the natives of their lands.

Oh no, why didn't the US & UK want to colonize and "TAKE all their resources"?

It's almost like the US & UK have learned to do things in a better way than the old methods of "Colonization".

It's better to let the local population be and do business with them then to try to force our way via Colonization.

Novel Idea.

That means things don't always go your way when it comes to business.

Because they wouldn't have been able to hold the areas that long. It would have been a bloodier Egypt revolution aided by Russia.

I would guess that europe will need lower prices for winter alot more then we do. And to maintain profits still increasing the US price perhaps makes the most sense from both a moral and economic point of view.

The Ottoman Empire had already colonized the Middle East
Before WW1, British-owned oil companies drilled in the Middle East under business arrangements with the Ottoman authorities.

After WW1, Britain had a severe case of imperial indigestion: too many trouble spots, too few troops. British military manpower melted away after the end of the conflict. (It was more important to have workers in factories than in barracks.) So by the time the Chanak crisis broke in September 1922, when Britain seemed to be on a collision course with Turkish nationalist forces in Anatolia, London had to go begging to (if I remember rightly) Canada and Australia for troops -- and got humiliatingly turned down. Direct rule wasn't a practical option.

It's almost like endless Colonial-ism doesn't work and it's better to have a Free Market society where everybody can do business with each other fairly instead of using Colonial-ism as your way of gaining resources.

Something Japan had to learn the hard way.

China is in the middle of their Colonial phase right now with the CCP at the helm.

It's only a matter of time before the CCP's house of cards comes crashing down.

Then vote the politicians you want into office. Ones that won't "Bend the Knee" to them.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_al-Bayoumi
Saudi Arabia claims that al-Bayoumi is not an agent of theirs.[2] According to previously-classified memoranda released by the National Archives in May 2016, as of 6 June 2003, the FBI "believes it is possible that he was an agent of the Saudi Government and that he may have been reporting on the local [Saudi] community to the Saudi Government officials. In addition, during its investigation, the FBI discovered that al-Bayoumi has ties to terrorist elements as well."[6]

Our intelligence agencies aren't infallible, they got the details on Saddam Hussein's WMD's wrong and President Bush Jr. acted on that intel and literally started the 2nd Iraq war because of that bad intel. Especially when our Allies were telling us there were "No WMD's" in Iraq.

Our Intelligence agents was literally conned by a former chemist who had political vendetta's against Saddam Hussein.

We all know Saddam Hussein is a bad man that needed to be dealt with. But not at that time, especially when he wasn't a threat and we were focused on Afghanistan at that time.

You don't have to believe them. I would be skeptical too.

But there are details about the situation that isn't clear.

ALOT more research needs to be done as to who al-Bayoumi works for and had worked for.

ALOT more research about his past and who he's collaborating / conspiring with.

Acting on incomplete intelligence is what lead to the 2nd Iraq War, which created the ISIS/ISIL/Daesh issue.

I'd rather not act on incomplete intelligence when you don't know the exact details of who you're dealing with.

Is Al-Bayoumi a former/current government operative?
Is he just a terrorist sympathizer or member?

Get the details correct before you make broad changes to policy.
