People don't like losing money to a string of wildcards. Though use of a wildcard has been used in the past as a means to raise the stakes (additional bets) before the game begins, and it may be a favorite or even a bit of a legend of a card among cards, the joker isn't one you're likely to see when you decide to hit the tables for real. Some games do use the joker as part of the game though, or as the objective in some cases, and especially if you're playing against the house one on one they're possible to come up, again however not usually in a high stakes traditional card game, unless maybe it were electronic, and usually this is explicitly stated in the rules before starting the game, but when you sit down to play poker or blackjack you can almost always (always always) assume the jokers won't be in the deck.
