They had enough practice with Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, and Resident Evil.

This time they got it!

Maybe. Maybe not.

But they will definitely fuck up the live action Yu Yu Hakusho show,

the sets they built so far look really good
so long as they capture the spirit of the original it could be good
it will probably suck but im gonna be optimistic and hope that zoro finally ends up with mihawk AKA his soulmate (only character who didnt peep at nami in albasta was zoro. im just saying)

that doesnt have anything to do anything i just wanted to point out i remember that cartoon

Anime in general doesn't really work in live action compared to superheros and I have no idea why Netflix keeps trying.

sailor moon had a really good live action version
but its fight scenes were hilariously bad and the budget was super low
but it was low budget in a funny way and its writing quality was great

I thought Cowboy bebop was fun, if you pretended it wasn't Cowboy bebop. The other 2 were entirely unwatchable.

It's out, it's 2 movies i think.

If you really want a live-action anime for some reason, the Space Battleship Yamato film from 2010 is almost decent.

Cowboy Bebop was awesome fuck the anime nerds that cried about it for not being a exact scene for scene copy of the anime.

Even if it is good it probably be canceled right away. Netflix is the streaming service of unfinished shows.

Voltron should have been unfinished.

Ninja boy Rantaro has a good live action adaptation, but it's criticized for trying too hard to made the cast looks like the manga/anime counterparts.

voltron was great at first but i never finished it so i dont know how it goes
but i do know that as a kid i would have loved for a gay hero to look up to like shiro
he was the best character in the seasons i watched

The thing keeping me interested is that Oda is crazy rich and hasnt given the rights out before now. Surely hes gotten offers its one of the biggest properties ever made.

So something about this one swayed him. And I doubt its money. He does not need money

The only way to save it is if they handle it like Sandman, by giving the original creator final say in basically every decision from the ground up--casting, story, music, all of it.

Hell no, it dragged on too much with those Julia scenes shoehorned in. Making all the episodes 40 minutes was a huge mistake

julia is a less is more type character
she is cool and mysterious in small doses
but there isnt enough to her character to justify giving her more episodes
she would need a whole personality change to work as a major recurring character

liv action shows should be made illegal

I have less faith in Netflix's commitment to it than I do the show itself

I started the new one and couldn't get over their interpretation of Colonel Armstrong. Literally turned it off once I stopped laughing at it.

I'm just saying, Netflix needs to stop canceling their big-budget shows after one season. We're gonna stop caring if we think Netflix is just going to pull the plug on any big show. Maybe at least give the writers a chance to redeem themselves with a season 2. Jupiter's Legacy was Netflix's biggest failure in that it definitely was far from unsalvageable.
