When someone starts the same argument again in a new thread, so they can pretend all the points made against their argument in a previous thread don't exist. Happens all the time around here. And also a little in real life. One reason I've learned to engage less and less. Not worth it if people are just going to reset back to square one.

A lot of these are just people being dumb and not knowing how to argue. A real dirty tactic is keeping a sensible argument, but also picking at something you know the opponent has trouble controlling their emotions about.

it's when you get hyper specific at the start of an argument so the person constantly has to refer to the earlier part of the argument to change any part that shows up later in the argument
