This is lame. Cheating isnt right but people also dont deserve to get put on blast like that.

A relationship is between two people. Its nobody elses business. People are wayyyyy too involved with other peoples lives.

Im not saying they were wrong to fire him. Im saying why make a statement? Why would they make this public knowledge other than to embarrass them? Everyone doesnt need to know everything. Its nobodys business but theirs.

They could easily just quietly phase him out. Now theyve opened the floodgates for people to comment on their relationship even though it isnt their place to do so.

If he simply disappeared it absolutely will affect viewership, and (this is the internet] people would very likely start review/comment bombing videos until they had am answer.

Coming out and saying "he is no longer with us going forward" is the right approach.

They didn't need to list the reasons, but he came out and made his own statement so really it's moot.

Also his wife is cute, he fumbled it.

That's not justification for firing people without cause.
They didn't violate their employment contract or the law, they shouldn't be fired.
Give them the option to transfer to another team.
Transfer her to another team.

They could even decide to leave.
However firing either of them without cause would be a shitheel thing to do, and potentially wrongful termination.

Yep, having the person "step down" is probably the only real legal way to handle this situation. It would be illegal to get fired for over something like cheating on their spouse, I know because that's exactly what happened to our CFO at our company.
