what games, how long have you been doing it, how's it going, how did you get into it, what was the first game you tried to speedrun, etc

I've started and stopped learning ALttP any% NMG at least half a dozen times now. Don't know why I stop, but it's fun learning it, and really until you get to the top tier levels of execution it isn't a particularly hard run.

Super Mario Odyssey: 1:03:53 any%, sub 1:20 World Peace, sub 2 Dark Side

Super Mario 64: 18:58 in 16 star, 58:50 in 70, 2:13:57 120 star.

One day I thought I should replay Donkey Kong Country, lets see how fast I can get 101% for fun.
I did it in 1:19.
So I thought Lets do it again and see if I can get a better time.
I did it in 1:03.
So I had to see if I could pass one hour, and got 0:57.
After that I had to see if I could beat DKC2 102% in less than 2 hours, and got 1:36, thats good enough for me.

I learned a beginner route for LoZ and got under an hour (48 minutes? I had to backtrack about half the overworld a lol ottle after level 3 because I forgot something, so definitely some easy room for improvement.) It was really satisfying, but it's not a priority for me to get back to until I have a lot more time.

Very rarely, and pretty much only when the game itself pushes it and theres a reason for doing it. Resident Evil is one. Games like Furi and Titan Souls had trophies for them, so I did those. I know theres more but cant think of them offhand.

I never could get into it as I always made the decision of wanting to experience another game instead of dedicating the time to do one over and over in practice.

I attempted to learn Fallout 3 and SM64 but I was blown away by the amount of time and commitment to be a great speedrunner.

I tried RE 2 back in the day, but even using the best strategies, I felt defeated.

Dont have the patience for it.

I used to be able to get within a second or two of the records at the time in Mario Kart 64. I don't have the patience for it anymore. I'm still unstoppable in that game though.

Used to casually speed run Perfect Dark but that's about it

Used to Speedrun in 2007/2008. I had a WR in one game that was even listed on speeddemosarchive (lasted a week, then was beaten). But I got tired of it. It can be stressful.

But I'm not going to spend hours trying to optimize my time using glitches and other weird tricks, that's bullshit

nah, just for fun. I used to run The Legend of Zelda (100%, glitchless) in under 4 hours, which impressed people in 2005. that was without any kind of speedrun guide, i just had the entire game memorized.

I just did my first legit speedrun of Enduro Racer on Master System yesterday. Just submitted it to speedrun.com where it should be #2 on the leaderboards for the NA/EU version:
