They're holding referendums in Luhansk and Donetsk in a few days for annexation into Russia, and they're changing their laws on mobilization and legal consequences for failure to report for duty or for desertion, and basically reinstating Order 227(which if you know anything about Russian military history, this didn't pan out for the Russians.)

I don't even know why they're doing this. They already don't have the supplies or logistics for the soldiers they've already committed to the war. Adding another 500k to 2 million isn't going to do what they think they're doing. All this is going to end up doing is lead to the downfall of Putin, and several republics will seek to secede from the Russian federation. Putin is destroying his legacy and Russian society for nothing.

He is a dictator and dictators are not allowed to lose.
