A woman escaped north korea and was a public critic for a while of her old country. One day she vanished. Later she appeared in a few propaganda videos and then was never heard from again

Furthermore, there exists a actual official north Korean government organization that is solely devoted to sneaking into the South and getting revenge on defectors

I can't believe defectors are not given permanent 24 hour bodyguards, especially after this case happened. If they want people to defect, they should be able to promise to keep them safe

Most people assume this woman is dead now. After her final propaganda video she was likely executed.

Shes either working the coal mines or dead. Just like that world cup player who tried to sneak out of the hotel one night.

Very tragic story but her actions were heroic and courageous to such tremendous heights given what she knew she was risking.

That happens sometimes, South Korea should take better steps to protect them more.

I've heard of that. They also crept into Japan and kidnapped teenagers. Some still live in north Korea to this day
