So, I saw Metroidvania in the description of Record of Lodoss War-Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth- in the ps store and remembered how back in the day it was taboo to mention any competitor by name.

For example, as a teen I worked for both Circuit City and Best Buy and both had these silent rules about calling Best Buy "the blue guys" and scolding people who said the company name. Also, at Best Buy they just said, "The other guys" and scolded anyone for saying Circuit City. This was around the mid to late 90s.

Even if the customer mentioned the name, you weren't supposed to say it. Anyways, I thought that shit was so dumb and didn't follow it. I remember getting shitty looks from the collectivist borg team members. I hate that kinda shit.

Any of you guys have any work stories with similar stuff? Rules or weird rituals the staff followed?
