For all the children who are high functioning, there is a LARGE population of people who simply. Cannot. Function.

Not as many but it happens.

I believe it is important to gain more knowledge about the spectrum, as it is poorly understood by most people.

I did not know before this topic that over 100 genes play a role in its development.

Scientists have done this with lab rats before and no one blinks an eye.

The idea that you can cure autism in living humans is very sus. Reminds me mostly of the concept of lobotimization.

You might be able to develop tools to screen for it in the womb, though. I say having no clue if such a thing would be possible.

I dont know if I want a cure or not. Autism effects my very thinking and personality. I would literally become a different person if I got cured. I hate that I was born with it but I'd have to think on if I would take a cure
