It's a stupid thing to be concerned about considering how many other problems I've got, but it's a bummer.

My ex had the combination of BDD and Body Dysmorphia and dealing with her constant abuse and histrionics absolutely ruined me. I'm borderline terrified of sex and I've lost all my confidence. I was so afraid to stand up for myself and call her out on her behavior but she would constantly threaten to harm herself (and in a few instances, me), so I had to just shut my mouth.

I'm getting older and obviously it's a lot tougher trying to find love when you're almost 30 compared to being in your twenties. That relationship made my anxiety and panic problems ten times worse and I feel like it just irreparably changed me for the worse. :(

That's good advice for anyone. Fortunately I never fell into the "finding a relationship will fix everything" mindset.

Do you still think you're very self aware?

You're not even 30 and you have relationship experience, even if it's a negative one.

You'll be fine, just take some time to recover and move on to the next one, with lessons learned.

You would be amazed how many men and women feel the same way . So don't beat yourself up , big dogg

As far as my mental struggles go, yes. This is something every specialist I've been to (back when I could afford it) has pointed out.
