Coming from Pixel 6 Pro, the iPhone 14 Pro is definitely better and more polished, but it's just "meh"... nothing AMAZING.

'the crease issue' is solved by actually using the devices and realizing that you don't notice it unless actively trying to find it

don't own one, but have fiddled with display units enough and i've been amazed even just putting on a yt video or whatver its just not a problem

i do think the clam shell foldables are actually more of a problem with the crease since you will end up running your fingers over it more

apple won't release the first good foldable because they already exist, you're just too far up tim cook's asshole to see anything else

there are negatives to the foldable form factors

they're more fragile, samsung has been having trouble with the screen protector film failing over time, they have generally not good battery life, haven't found a good solution to the front facing camera yet, and are not even dust resistant

the crease sounds like it should be there, but actually seeing it up close and using it - its not a problem

the like 2 people you know that own one don't rule out the experiences of almost everyone else who has used a fold 3 or 4 or even moreso the ones developed by the major chinese OEMs that have virtually eliminated the crease

if they have a first gen or second gen, yeah they're different experiences but the crease hasn't been an issue for 2 years now at least

The guy really should be on everyone's ignore at this point.

He's literally saying that Android folks fail to see how people reach different conclusions from them yet he craps on everything and anything pertaining to Android in every topic where it comes up. I'd say he's a troll but he's trying way too hard.

you have a bit of tunnel vision there. ive stated multiple times that android and ios both have their pros and cons and they appeal to different people with different values. again you people are incapble of reading and only post juvenile ad hominem. where were you in the topics where i was stating androids pros over ios? oh right, you're just a troll looking to antagonise people

I don't think being more stable is even something anyone would notice in 2022. It isn't as if Android is a buggy mess that crashes constantly. The user experience is very very good.

iMessage I'll grant, but RCS has really made the messaging experience on Android much better than it used to be. I just wish my preferred messaging app (Textra) was RCS compatible.

FaceTime I don't really get how this is any better than using the built in video calling of Android

Android is buggy as hell, what are you talking about? With my Pixel 6 Pro:
  • Apps frequently crash or look crappy,
  • Launcher keeps crashing when PIP is enabled that they still didnt fix after a year,
  • Signal is unstable leading to call failures,
  • Dark mode is inconsistent and doesnt work sometimes even in google apps,
I can go on and on

RCS is not even a good tech; literally cant do more than half of what iMessages can do. Also, as you noted, very little apps even support RCS fresh out of the box. Its a shitty experience.

Facetime is the same issue with RCS; there is no default app that is on every android phone and this fragmentation makes it so that you need 472747263 different apps.

That's an issue with the Pixel 6 specifically. It's known for being buggy as fuck for some reason.

It's not a shitty experience, it's just not as feature rich as iMessage. In all reality, it isn't even all that big of a deal, but I get why people prefer it.

You don't need a different app, video calling has just been built into the default dialer for quite some time now

It's not that they make bad hardware, it's just that they've really shined at making good midrange devices while not doing flagship level ones particularly good.

The 6pro was their shot at a real flagship level device, and they definitely hit the mark for the most part. The issue was early adopters of the phone had to deal with a ton of bugs and issues other manufacturers dont have.

And the stock/barebones Android OS which I love and what keeps me from jumping over to Samsung. Phone has been hearing up like a mf lately tho and the battery is not the best. Hopefully there's a lotta cool marginal improvements with phones next year as I have no loyalty besides the phone being android lol. The Oppo Find 5x Pro this year looked really cool.

Pixel 6 Pro camera also wasnt anything amazing either; the photos looked way too artificial and over-HDRd. Sometimes, mostly outdoor photos, it looked pretty nice; but most of the time, it looked way too over processed for my taste.

In addition, video recording really falls flat, and it felt like a cheap $300 phone when recording stuff on video. Zooming in and out wasnt smooth at all, and theres a noticeable jump in orientation when you switch lenses. Very amateur level in OS programming, which is strange coming from such a huge company as Google.
