However, why would you want to go there anyways? They get mad at other people for not giving a salary to THEIR workers.

We need social change to kill tipping culture, but all refusing to tip currently does is hurt the server. If you refuse to partake in any service that "requires" tipping, that's fair.

I grew up in WA state where waiters made full wage and still expected a tip. Also it was the highest minimum wage in America. Might still be. I dont know

That is probably a large reason why I grew to hate tipping culture. Maybe it's unfair to the other 49 state waiters. But WA waiters are entitled

Id rather pay more for the meal and have the waiters earn a baseline liveable wage. Any restaurant that tries to implement tipping is a complete shitshow. That trash is repulsive. Its not acceptable for them to try and implement it in Australia. It was never ok to implement it in America either. Only scumbag businesses have a tipping culture. Thats a global rule.

I completely agree that tipping culture is dumb and there is a reason most the rest of the world doesn't have one. But you change that by not going to businesses that use the tipping model and patronizing ones that pay their employees proper wages. You change that by calling/writing your legislators and telling them you want restaurants to have to pay real wages.

You do not change that by going to a tip-based business, using their services and then not tipping. You hurt only one person doing that and it's your server. You just make yourself into a complete asshole, regardless of your noble intentions.

After working service for awhile.. I truly believe some people really dont deserve a tip lol. I go to a restaurant and straight up judge my servers >_>

need more of the story. like did the server suck and not deserve a tip? was it just like 2 people or was it like a huge group of 10+ that didn't tip? obviously if it's a huge group than yea that's bs since the 1 server would be pretty much dedicated to that table for like 2 hours and then not really get anything to show for it. but if it was just like a couple than eh. crappy to not even leave like 10% but not like it takes too much away.

but how would they even remember if they went once before and didn't tip unless it was a large group. they aren't gonna remember a random couple unless they have a history of it. like been there 10 times and never tipped once.

A non-tipping customer isn't "fighting for fair wages", even if they honestly belive they are, they are just causing workers to literally make less money for their work. Which is like the opposite of what they are claiming to fight for. So if the establishment knows that someone is about to short-change their workers, I don't blame them for not serving the customer.
