Usually they stop working gradually without visible damage. Like now it doest always charge if its positioned wrong. So its gonna stop working in a few weeks or months.

you sure it's bad cables and not caked-on lint or dust inside the phone charging port causing a bad connection?

That turned out to be my problem when I kept having connectivity issues with my charging cords. Took a needle and carefully scraped it all out, and all my cables work great again.

Buy something better off of Amazon. The only official charger I use is the one for my laptop.

I think it's Apple. I never had an iPhone, but I went through so many chargers for my iPod, it's kind of ridiculous. Meanwhile, I still have a 10+ year old micro USB cable that still works.

I've never had a charging that lasted a long time. My Titan cable has lasted a year so far.

I havent found any that hold up well myself and been using iPhones since the 5s

I use a wireless charging pad at home but have to keep buying cables to use in my car. Id say they usually last like half a year or so.

The old 15 pin or whatever ones really didn't last very long, though I've found lightning cables to be crazy hit-or-miss, and if you're in a position where you'll be moving them around a lot (like keeping a charger in your bag) they really don't last.

The inline ones are a bit more stable than the right-angle one, but they all hold pretty well.

I use these for all of my 'mini' consoles, after the USB on one of them got a bit flaky. They grip good enough for that.

They are. Back when I still had to use lightning cables the Apple branded ones were the worst. Hell, even when they were still using the larger pin connector the rubber would strip out around those cables as well. It's intentional and it prints money.

The chargers suck but you also need to learn to coil your cable and take care of copper
