It's really hard for me to suspend my disbelief with this show for some reason. It has the production value of 2020s netflix shows but the logic of an 80s teen romp. Where the fuck are the police in ANY of this?!?! Lmao

I get that "All this, over Karate?" is supposed to be part of it's charm, but it's starting to fall into the same trap most shows or movie franchises fall into. It's becoming too successful for it's own good, so the storylines have to get more and more elaborate to top the season before.

I just watched the first episode and idk if I'm willing to commit to all this lol. It's too much, even for itself.

it really is worth it. i fuckin love this stupid show. just know going in that it's never going to take itself too seriously and neither should you.
it wants very much to emulate the style of the original karate kid movies, and it does, right down to the absurdity of the whole thing.

I'm really liking the Johnny part. LaRusso just seems to be causing trouble. If he would just leave well enough alone, this conflict would end.

This show really needs to commit to taking out popular characters for good. Netflix always keeps too many people alive.

Finished the last 3 episodes yesterday. They were absolutely insane, especially the last. I can see how season 6 plays out. Kreese takes over Cobra Kai and most of the people who were with Kreese join him again. Including the female instructor. And Hilary Swank makes a debut. The season will continue to be on the world tournament..

But Kreese assaulted people, so it makes no sense how he could get back into the real world without recupressions.

I just finished this season, and I have to say, this show has managed to pull off something incredible. It's so cheesy and over the top, but the ingredients are in such perfect proportions that the end result is something great. And it's also amazing how every little detail from the original movies is referenced and utilized in a meaningful way. This show is a perfect demonstration of how to respect your source material. I'm going to be so sad when it comes to an end.

Chozen was such a great addition to the cast
