We have 2 and they are such a handful. Ages 3 and 1. Your entire day is spent either playing with them, feeding them, bathing, etc. There's no downtime from the time the first one wakes up to when the last one sleeps and at that point you're so tired you go to sleep too.

Even with 2 parents it's tough because that only gives us enough time to get errands done.

I don't know how people handle 3 kids at once.

Its easier when you don't spend large amounts of time lying to strangers on the internet.

We wanted two kids and had twins for the second kid... It gets easier as they get older and more self sufficient though

Most people who do that are those monsters who basically do some variety of this:
Once the first born kid is old enough (10 or so at the latest) they have them handle duties caring for their younger siblings which ultimately robs that oldest child of their childhood and causes them to develop some bad interpersonal relationship mechanisms as a result of having their parents use them to care for others rather than actually being parents.

Yeah idk. Families are super interesting. If I was a sociologist I would either study sociology of knowledge or of families

Once a child reaches a certain age YouTube takes over most parenting duties and that leaves time to focus on the younger kids.

One if my coworkers grew up like that, she said she was basically the mom for her younger siblings. She resents it so much, now she's 35 and of the mindset that she never wants kids and never wants to be married.

My issue is that I wouldn't be able to give the older kids the attention they deserve. I mean once they are teenagers they are pretty much on autopilot. But that's a long time of potentially not giving then enough attention.

My problem is I don't want to have kids until I'm financially secure enough. And I'm not sure when "enough" will happen.

I have 4 and when they are with me (I have them a third of the time), I still have downtime - go running, read, can watch shows or play games about 2 hours a day

I mean it gets easier when they are older (mine are 11 & 13). They dont need as much attention and can do things on their own. Of course I cant image restarting and having another one that needs help 24/7.

I think what makes it hard is really trying to be a good parent and not just turning on a TV and letting them be zombies all day. And we're constantly trying to do activities that encourage creativity and learning. I can't wait until they're both in school I think that will make things alot easier. But thats still like 4 years from now lol.
